Collage Kickstart Live Day 7: Fodder Forever Part 1

Image
Collage Kickstart Live Day 7: FODDER FOREVER Part 1 I have created enough fodder to last my lifetime (and for the lucky person who buys them in the estate sale after I have departed my wonderful artistic life). I am only posting the cool color palette prints; I’ll post the warms in a follow-up. At first I couldn’t bring myself to spray lots of water over my pieces, but now I totally see the beauty in a watery ghost print. I had such fun with found objects, stencils, and my gel plate. Even the paint discharge deli papers are collage-worthy .

Collage Kickstart Live Day 6: Balloons & Baggies

Collage Kickstart Live Day 6: Balloons & Baggies Stamping with acrylic, paper, and balloons was only a minor success for me, and I’m not sure exactly why. Definitely, the under inflated balloons worked better than the bigger ones. Maybe someday, I’ll try again.  Taking some close-up photos helped to get an idea of pieces that might be collage-worthy .  The baggie technique was probably my favorite. To honor my feline, I filled the bag with cat litter. I spent all day playing with paint. Again, some close-up photos helped to get an idea of pieces that might be collage-worthy.  .

Collage Kickstart Live Day 5: Creating Collage Papers in Neutral Palette

Collage Kickstart Live Day 5:  Creating Collage Papers in Neutral Palette Life is a full circle, widening until it joins the circle motions of the infinite. ~Anais Nin Will it go ‘round in circles?  The entire time I was painting circles today, that song by Billy Preston (w-a-y back in 1973) circled in my head. As evidence, I am posting a photo of my studio. Every surface is covered with circle papers!  I realized that I do not have any papers in gray, so I fixed that. I ended up with only one successful paper trying to create a haze in the circles by spraying the paper liberally with water while the paint was still wet. I’ll have to try more of those because I like that effect. Not sure why the brown one didn’t work. Maybe the paper? I need to buy new Posca pens; mine have given up. I made tons of papers!  The stars of the day made an appearance . . . MY DAD’S OLD POKER CHIPS! They have been living in a baggie stuffed in a draw for many decades. I never found...

Collage Kickstart Live Day 3: Cling Wrap

Image
Collage Kickstart Live Day 3: Cling Wrap The cling wrap portion of this day of class was also not the most successful for me. I think adding a layer of gloss gel medium to any type of pre-painted paper, including heavier watercolor paper, gives the best results. Waiting 24 hours to take off the cling wrap for the big reveal was the most difficult part!
