Fodder Folio
Fodder Folio
What to do with tons and tons of collage fodder? How to organize it and store it? These are significantly important questions that require answers for those of us dabbling with mixed media collage and journaling. The May project in Fodder School 3 attempts to answer these burning questions. It is, at the very least, a beginning.
This month’s Fodder School project was led by Suzanne Randers. Working in her color palette was fun and wild. Can’t say if I’ve ever used hot pink, lime green, and yellow before! This one required sewing, so my old Kenmore machine had to go in for a tune-up after being stored in a box in the attic for decades. (Note: Mom gave this sewing machine to me for high school graduation in 1971; it’s an antique like me). I gotta say that this project was both overwhelming and an accomplishment that was accompanied by joy and lots and lots of cursing. Getting reacquainted with my machine and sewing on paper was a challenge. But, hey, I persevered and finished it. One big perk was hanging out with Jeff and his sewing machine museum filled with fascinating, old sewing artifacts. Thanks, Jeff!
